I mentioned a while back that I was playing in an Eberron game. We're playing Oracle of War and have made it up to level 10.
We've been using TaleSpire to play Dungeons and Dragons 5e for a few years now and it's been a blast. Making Hero Forge minis has been a fun part of bringing the characters to life.
My current character is a former war hero who gave himself over the the gods (specifically Boldrei) to become a Cleric of Peace. I've recently taken up casting Sanctuary and just blasting the battlefield with buffs and healing. As a former soldier, he does have a bit of a rough side. There was a bit of a running joke with him being a Lich in the making for a while.
In our previous game, I played a Dwarven Paladin that was an Orc war-orphan raised by dwarves to be a great Paladin but was particularly bad at it, due to his pent up rage. He was a half-orc zealot barbarian with a few levels in rune knight fighter.
When the group started, many of the players have never played before. So while it was really my first time into 5e, it was others first time roleplaying at all. So I contented myself to focus on suboptimal builds and be a supporting character to allow the new players to shine. The game ended up having a story about a pantheon, so his religious background ended up being super useful in the long run and he always put himself forward as a dwarven paladin much to the confusion of many.
